Green Iguana Surf Camp was born in 1999 of the minds of Jason and Karla Butler, and their now 9-year old son, Eric. After many years of working in the surfing/tourism industry and surfing on a near-daily basis, they decided to combine their knowledge and create a surf camp designed to give their clients a truly enjoyable surfing vacation. Jason is known locally as the Ding King, for his expert knowledge in surfboard repair. A formerly certified lifeguard, he has been surfing for over 20 years, and has been teaching beginner's surf instruction/ocean safety for the past six years in Playa Dominical.
Karla is a fully bilingual Costa Rican ("Tica" in the local vernacular) who is equally skilled in teaching both surfing and the Spanish language, and is the "real deal" a true surfer girl.
Eric is not only a great surfer, but he's also a very good fisherman. He is bilingual, effortlessly switches between Spanish and English, and may just one day be the surfing world champion!
